A grandma from Ohio is getting a lot of attention after sharing her quick and creative pool cleaning trick.
It’s always troublesome to keep your pool clean and the water blue. No matter the efforts, including regular chemical checkups, scrubbing the sides, and adding chlorine, I often find my pool looking horrible.
If you’re also experiencing a similar situation as mine, you’ll love what this grandma has to offer.
Lisa Pack, 49-year-old, explained that she learned her cleaning trick after spending weeks ‘scrubbing’ and ‘vacuuming’ to keep her pool blue.
“My pool’s never been clear.”
“It just doesn’t stay clear for some reason.”
Pack also revealed that her daughter, Whitney, was the one who actually found the advice on Facebook.
The grandma then shared the information, last year, on Facebook herself.
“Hey everyone, I had to post this. Everyone knows my pool is green by this time of the year. However, Whitney spotted this idea on Facebook and I figured why not try it, I had a box of Mr. Clean magic erasers laying around.”
“Now mind you, my pool wasn’t green but it looked like it was getting cloudy. I throw one of these in the skimmer basket and holla bing holla boom the cloudiness left and my sponge looks like this. I’m pretty excited to think something so cheap could help so much.”
Pack said that she just drops one Mr. Clean Magic Eraser into the pool’s skimmer bucket and leaves the foam square to do all the other work.
Before discovering her trick, Pack said that she’d spend almost 45 minutes every week cleaning her pool.
But now, she only drops a single eraser in the pool when the water gets cloudy. She then leaves the foam to do “all the work.”
Pack also shared a photo holding a green piece of foam in her hand, in front of the clear pool.
The grandma, bragging about her pool, said:
“There’s no green, there’s no slime on the bottom. There was no green in sight – it was amazing.”
If you have trouble cleaning your pool, you can use the foam square cleaning trick, and it’ll do wonders.
Other tricks to keep your pool clean include wrapping a pantyhose around the skimmer basket, to make it clean better.
You can also add diatomaceous earth to keep things around the pool clean. The chemical keeps the sand in the filter intact, and it’s also a barrier against debris.
Another cleaning tip is dropping tennis balls in the pool. The balls float and soak up the oil from the water surface.
