Anthony Bourdain had several tattoos. Luke Stewart of Seventh Son Tattoo was one of the lucky tattoo artists who got to do some of Anthony Bourdain's tattoos. He was the Bourdain Family's go-to tattoo artist.
Anthony Bourdain's mom, Gladys, was never really interested in her son's tattoo work that he had done. But now that she had lost her beloved son to a very tragic death, it changed her perspective on ink.
She decided to pay tribute to her son by getting a small piece of text on the inside of her wrist. The tattoo reads, "Tony." She refers to it as "a personal memorial to her son."
Gladys Revealed How She First Learned About Anthony's Death

Gladys revealed to NBC News in a phone interview that her other son Christopher was the person to give her the heartbreaking news.
She says that the last time she had heard from Anthony was an email he had sent to her on Mother's Day.
A Lovely Childhood Memory

Gladys also shared a lovely childhood memory of Anthony with the world.
Bourdain's mom said that an unfortunate accident led him to his culinary career and fame. She said:
The thing is he came back from his first summer in Provincetown as a dishwasher. Then one of the cooks burned or cut himself so badly he had to stop work. And Tony, who was just observing, filled in.
And when he came back at the end of that summer, Gladys talked to him about it. Anthony did not care much for his college career. But Gladys suggested the Culinary Institute, and that is where it all began.
Here is to Gladys and her very first tattoo. A lovely tribute to her very much talented and also very much missed son, Anthony Bourdain.
