Disney has continued its domination of the 2019 Box Office into 2020, with Frozen II becoming the most 'loved' and highest-grossing animated film ever.
With a whopping $1.403 billion haul since its release into theaters on November 22, 2019, Frozen II has surpassed Frozen as the top animated film at the global Box Office.
Paul Dergarabedian, a senior media analyst at ComScore, recently announced:
"Disney's box-office hot streak continues into 2020 as Frozen II surpasses the first installment to become the highest-grossing animated film of all-time and continues to charm enthusiastic audiences, adults and kids alike, around the world."
And according to fans, the Disney follow-up doesn't disappoint as they took to social media to rave about it.
The Disney sequel is set three years after the first film's events and sees Elsa embark journeying north after she hears a strange sound calling her.
Along with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven, the characters leave their home of Arendelle and embark on a quest to discover the origin of Elsa's powers and ultimately save their kingdom.
Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad are all back to voice the characters for the sequel, which has been branded "darker" than the first by critics.

Even before the film's release, the Frozen II trailer had already been dubbed the most viewed animated trailer of all time.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, over 116.4 million viewers tuned in to watch the wordless, albeit epic footage on its first day.
And just a few weeks after its release, taking to Twitter, cinema-goers have claimed Frozen II is the "best-animated movie ever made," while others are giving it a whopping ten out of ten.
One fan said:
"@DisneyFrozen #Frozen2 was AMAZING. I loved it so much! Can't wait to watch it again, lol! Make sure you stay for the end credits!"
Another added:
"So I already watched frozen 2 and... WHY I SAW SO MANY ELSA AND ANNA MOMENTS THAN ANNA WITH HER BF AKELFLGL. But after all... the movie is perfect, I luv it!"
Another running theme in the reviews is that the second installment is far "darker" than the original.
One person wrote:
"It's a darker, more complex, and more emotionally mature story, continuing everything you love about the first movie and upping the ante while maintaining the intimacy of the original."
While another critic said, the film is "darker, a little more mature, but still an excellent film for families."
Frozen II was Disney's sixth film, released in 2019 to reach the $1 billion mark, and soon Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be it's seventh. No other film studio has ever had that many billion-dollar movies in one year.
