Brittiny Lopez-Murray, 31, taught drama in Hialeah Middle School. Allegedly, she started a relationship with a 14-year-old student in August.

The student goes to the school in the same area and is considered to be a former pupil of Brittiny Lopez-Murray.

The teacher was arrested last Thursday, the night before she was charged with lewd and lascivious battery, molestation, and engaging in a sex act with a child.

The police report said that the unnamed victim's sister became suspicious after checking her brother's phone.

The sister took the phone and saw "explicit text messages and photos." She turned the phone in to their parents, and the father discovered messages the teacher allegedly sent, containing photos of her "exposed breasts and vagina"

The messages were disturbing as the police claim that the father described some read "how much they enjoyed the sex with each other."

The teacher started the seduction by sending messages to the boy, saying she had "feelings for him," the victim said.

In the following weeks, the two had sex on multiple occasions.

The teen used to be her student but is now in high school.

Lopez-Murray Remains Silent

Defense attorneys Landon Ray and Jeff Chukwuma stated:

"She is presumed innocent until proven guilty. We hope everyone is patient, doesn't rush to judgment and respects the family's privacy."

The disgraced teacher, who is married, invoked her right to remain silent, police said.

Miami-Dade school district officials stated there were no previous reports on the teacher, who was named "rookie teacher of the year" in 2017.

The school district also added that they were "saddened and disappointed over these serious allegations given that the district takes great measures to ensure our students are educated in safe learning environments."

This is the third arrest regarding teachers and school children in the past week in Florida.
