For unknown reasons, the theory that the Earth is flat found its way to our lives in the past decade like we magically entered the Dark Ages. Instead of accepting, flat-Earthers are finding new ways to "prove" that our planet is flat, despite failing each time.
One of those people actually went out of his way to prove that his theory was true but ended up proving the opposite.
The clip about one man's "heart-breaking" discoveries recently went viral on Reddit. However, it is not new: it was previously shown in Netflix's Behind The Curve from 2018. The documentary explored the rising number of believers that the Earth is flat.
Accidentally disapproving his theory
It was a DIY experiment with a camera filming through two holes, as a person on the other side shone a torch back at the camera.
In the theory of the flat-earther, if the light can be seen when the camera, the holes in the fence, and the torch are all at the same difference above the ground, the Earth is flat.
As his friend holds the torch at the same level as the camera, the light is missing. If he lifts the torch higher, the light shines through the holes.
Mental gymnastics

As many Redditors pointed out, the man did not accept his experiment but went through mental gymnastics just to claim that his theory was accurate.
Redditors made many jokes, though we are fairly certain that flat Earthers most likely used some of the jokes to continue proving their theory.
One person wrote:
"The camera was made with NASA technology DUH!"
Another said:
"I've seen that clip many times but have yet to see his explanation as to how that happened."
Some comments were dark yet hilarious:
"Some of these guys are very smart, just picked a wrong hill to die on."
Another person wrote:
"This guy took the time and effort to learn a way to prove his hypothesis. There was another guy who was a self-taught rocket scientist just to prove the Earth was flat."
