Father Fractures Pastor's Skull After After He Caught Him Inappropriately Touching His 9-year-old Son

A father from Oklahoma brutally beat a pastor after finding him inappropriately touching his young son.

The now-former pastor, Michael Coghill, 33, was arrested for forcible fondling and lewd or indecent proposals or acts involving a child once the victim's parents told them they caught him in the act.

The child, 9, told his parents that Coghill touched him in a way that made him feel uncomfortable on several occasions.

The alleged attack happened at a bus stop in the 8700 block of SW 36th Street on September 22.

The child told his parents that Coghill was jogging when he found its prey.

The police were called as someone said that a man had "been coming out to the bus stop and touching kids."

But, before the police arrived, Coghill was assaulted by the boy's father.

The boy told his father that the pastor was touching him in such a despicable manner, and the disgraced pastor already had a routine when it came to inappropriate acts towards children.

Though the allegations alone were horrific enough, the latest incident was caught on tape.

Sgt. Dillon Quirk of the Oklahoma Police Department told local news outlets:

"Yesterday, our adult that was made aware of the situation, actually stopped, retrieved a recording device, monitored at the bus stop, observed and viewed the suspect run past the bus stop, stop, come back, and then touch the juvenile."

The man whose identity will remain hidden told police the child said the "the guy had touched him on the back and he doesn't like the way it made him feel."

The dad ran after Coghill and tackled him to the ground, reportedly fracturing his skull and cracking his left orbital socket.

Michael Coghill Was A Minister At The Lakehoma Church Of Christ

The Lakehoma Church of Christ issued a statement. It read:

"We were heartbroken to learn of the incident involving one of our adult ministers, and our hearts go out to the child and family involved. We were shocked at this news as he had a clean background check, and we have received no reports or claims against him during his tenure. Church leadership has no tolerance for any type of abuse and is meeting tonight to discuss next steps. We will cooperate with authorities as needed."

Witness, Lisa Ward said that Cohhill was a respected pastor in the town nearby, adding:

"I just thought he was a runner in the neighborhood."

"He knew the time he would be there every day. That was the hardest part, the most disgusting part."

Lisa, mom of two daughters who was catching the same bus ride as the nine nine-year-old victim of sexual abuse, added:

"There are hardly any words that are camera-appropriate."

"It's just sickening."

Cohhil's name was removed from the church's website, and he is now in jail, held on charges of lewd acts towards a child.

Police are asking if anyone else has information that could help the investigation to let them know.

"If we have more victims, we encourage them if they know something, say something. Come forward."
