Machine Gun Kelly finally popped the question, and Megan Fox gave a resounding yes!
The proposal followed the theme from the popular Supernatural series and was beautiful.
However, fans seem to find the engagement ring ugly, even saying that they "threw up" at the sight of it.
Kelly and Fox are an unconventional couple, so whatever they delivered wasn't below par. An eccentric engagement ring from an eccentric musician is not a far-fetched thought.
The artist who released hit tracks like Till I Die and 'Wild Boy started dating Fox a few months after separating from her husband, Brian Austin Green.
They met in March 2020 on the set of the movie, Midnight In The Switchgrass, where Fox acted as an undercover federal agent while Kelly played the part of a "criminally sleazy motel owner."
A source told E! News that the couple had "been hanging out a lot since their movie shutdown... the downtime has been good for them... they are intrigued by each other."
They were frequently spotted together in public places, even sharing a kiss from time to time.
Even with their pictures together flying all over social media, both parties did not confirm an actual relationship.
The actress' now ex-husband did address the rumors, though.
On his podcast, he talked about the moment Fox told him about Colson Baker, that is, Machine Gun Kelly. "I was shocked, and I was upset about it, but I can't be upset at her because she didn't ask to feel that way. It wasn't a choice she made, that's the way she honestly felt."
He also admitted that Kelly was a "really nice, genuine guy."
In his words, "I've never met him, but Megan and I have talked about him. They're friends at this point, and from what she's expressed, he's a really nice, genuine guy, and I trust her judgment."
Later that same month, Machine Gun Kelly released the music video for his song Bloody Valentine, which almost confirmed suspicions about him and Fox.
Fox starred in the video as Kelly's domineering girlfriend and shared an almost-kiss with him.
One month later, Kelly quoted a part of the lyrics from the new song on Twitter and ended the post with the words "life imitated art on that one."
A few days later, Us Weekly reported that the couple was officially dating.
According to what a source told them, they wrote:
"Megan and MGK have gotten more serious and are officially dating and referring to one another as boyfriend and girlfriend. They're enjoying spending more and more time together and have a strong connection."
They have made no efforts to hide they are dating since they admitted it and have many pictures of them together on Instagram.
They appeared together in an interview where Fox said she feels an "astrological connection" between them.
"I knew right away that he was what I call a twin flame. Instead of a soul mate, a twin flame is actually where a soul has ascended into a high enough level that it can split into two different bodies at the same time.
So we're actually two halves of the same soul. I think. And I said that to him almost immediately, because I felt it right away."
Well, certain parts of their relationship have met with questioning gazes from fans.
For example, in July 2020, Kelly shared an intimate detail of their relationship with Teen Vogue - his love for Fox's feet.
"It's no secret. I think feet are beautiful. And I think Megan has the most beautiful feet that exist."
He even asked her to highlight her feet for the video:
"I was like, 'Megan, you already know what I'm about to ask you.' And she was like, 'Yeah, I literally got a pedicure just because I knew you were going to ask me that."
In an interview with Jimmy Falon on TheTonight Show, Kelly talked about some crazy things he had done for love.
Before talking about those, he spoke about a time he bruised his coccyx and couldn't "sit or stand or do anything."
"I had a match with Post Malone in a beer pong game, and you know when you get your cup and start drinking, well we didn't even get to the game when we started drinking, and they filmed on the way out doing a Rocky Boxing match film."
"I couldn't take the pressure of the camera, so I was like alright every 5 steps I've got to do something cool because it's like 500 steps, I don't wanna just walk."
"There was a staircase rail, and I was like yeah great, so I take the staircase rail, and I rode it down. At the bottom of it, I didn't see a giant spike, and it just... You know."
He had just started dating Fox then. You are doing everything you can to look cool at that phase, and Kelly was no different. Thus, he acted like nothing was wrong even though his coccyx was on fire with pain.
Thankfully, he won the beer pong match but had to go home with his bruised coccyx and the pretty clueless Fox only to get home and so something worse:
"I went home and Travis got me this knife that had an engravement from the new album on it, and I was like 'check this out, this is sick' and I threw it up and it came and stuck in my hand."
He maintained his cool until the next morning. He told Falon with laughter:
"The next morning as soon as she left I was like 'yo, I need stitches real quick. I've got a bruised coccyx and a knife in my hand."
This is definitely one crazy thing to do for love, but Fox might have been worried about a knife stuck in his hand than him looking cool.
We are glad that those things did not go in vain because Fox finally announced their engagement!
The unconventional couple that they are, their announcement was anything but regular.
Fox said yes because Kelly's Instagram post showed that she said, "Yes, in this life and every life."
Writing about the proposal and what inspired the design for the engagement ring, he penned:
"Beneath the same branches we fell in love under, I brought her back to ask her to marry me."
"I know the tradition is one ring but I designed it with Stephen Webster to be two: The emerald (her birth stone) and the diamond (my birth stone) set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as one two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love. 1-11-2022."
He must have kept what Fox said about twin flames in his heart. A man that listens and takes note!
Fox's post was just as sweet but with a bizarre twist at the end.
"In July of 2020, we sat under this banyan tree. We asked for magic. We were oblivious to the pain we would face together in such a short, frenetic period of time."
"Unaware of the work and sacrifices the relationship would require from us but intoxicated off of the love. And the karma."
"Somehow a year and a half later, having walked through hell together, and having more than I imagined possible, he asked me to marry him. And just as in every lifetime before this one, and as in every lifetime that will follow it, I said yes."
She added: "... and then we drank each other's blood."
And we wish them all the happiness they deserve.
But as always, there are two types of people on social media when it comes to things like this. The happy ones and the jealous ones are always looking for faults.
Here are some comments from those hating on the engagement ring:
What is your honest opinion about how the ring looks? It looks gorgeous, and the fact that it's not regular and has such a sweet backstory makes it even more appealing.
Just look at it.
Well, Megan Fox and MGK are getting married, and that's it. Period!
