Getting mistaken for an employee can be a rather awkward situation. When you get mistaken for an employee by a 'Karen' - well, that's just unfortunate.
Although there isn't an official definition of the word 'Karen' yet, we all know what it means and the kind of person it refers to.
'The entitled white woman who thinks the whole world exists to keep her happy and satisfied.'
Often, they have the same blonde bob, and sunglasses they seem to think makes them look superior to the rest of us.
Always, they have horrible attitudes and don't care how they treat others. They're also willing to throw tantrums and behave really badly in public.
A Karen Encounter Worth Sharing
Encountering a Karen 'in the wild' is something that people like to share with others. Not because it's such a great experience, but because of how ridiculous such an encounter can get.
One person shared their story on Reddit - the front page of the internet - and it is quite the tale to tell.
It isn't a rare thing for folks to get mistaken for staff when they're actually shoppers as well. But getting yelled at because you don't know where eyelash curlers are?
That could only be a Karen encounter.
Reddit user u/Wiggle_it_loose took to the subreddit r/IDontWorkHereLady. The subreddit exists because this kind of thing happens regularly and folks like to talk about it.
For this particular Redditor, it happens so often that he's grown used to it. Apparently, he's got a 'retail face'.
However, his most recent experience was a little different.
He shared how he reacted to the Karen screaming in his face and being ridiculously rude.
Seriously, his reaction was amazing. He was funny, witty and did not allow her to walk over him for one second.
Of course, she couldn't handle it and nearly exploded. Here's how it went down:

Other Reddit users were very happy with how things played out. They loved the dry humor that u/Wiggle_it_loose threw at the Karen.
His comebacks and jokes were classic, and many took notes so they could use it themselves.
