Elon Musk Gives UN Conditions For $6 Billion Donation To Solve World Hunger

Elon Musk is willing to give six billion dollars to the World Food Program. However, the tech genius gave United Nations a challenge and depending on the UN's answer, we might be one step closer to feeding millions of people.

It all started when the Director of the UN's World Food Programme (WFP), David Beasley, stated that world billionaires could end world hunger.

He described that 42 million starving people who are "literally going to die if we don't help them "could be aided by a 6 billion dollar donation.

The world's richest man, Elon Musk, is willing to cover all expenses, but his condition is simple: the UN must publically show how the money will be spent.

Tesla's founder explained he would sell part of his stocks, and according to financial gurus, six billion dollars is only 2 percent of Musk's net worth, which is over 300 billion USD.

Now comes Beasley's response and some backtracking. He tweeted:

However, David Beasley added the whole story is not quite as simple as suggested.

Not even Elon Musk could end world hunger at this point, as Beasley tweeted:

Interestingly enough, David Beasley spoke numerous times about how billionaires need to wake up. He told CNN there was a net-worth increase of "$1.8 trillion in the past year for the top 400 billionaires in the United States." He added that "all [he's] asking for is 0.36% of your net-worth increase."

Even with the hefty donation, Elon Musk would remain the world's richest man, with approximately 100 billion dollars more than Jeff Bezos.

As for Beasley, we can all agree with his assessment:

"I'm for people making money, but God knows I'm all for helping people who are in great need right now. The world is in trouble."

We hope this will go beyond Twitter exchange because it is pretty crazy to have people starving to death on the one hand and those buying whole planets on the other.
