Juno and The Umbrella Academy actor Elliot Page talked about his transition, and his interview might help other transgender people with their struggles.
Elliot came out as transgender via social media in December 2020.
"I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they, and my name is Elliot."
In February 2021, he was the first transgender person on the cover of Time. He tweeted:
"With a deep respect for those who came before me, gratitude for those who have supported me & great concern for the generation of trans youth we must all protect, please join me and decry anti-trans legislation, hate & discrimination in all its forms."
This is what he had to say about growing up and accepting yourself.
Elliot Page Always Knew He Was A Boy

Elliot said that he always wanted to be a boy. But, due to social norms and the acting career, he decided to keep up with the act. He hated his long hair, and as explained, didn't want to look at photos of himself.
He stated:
"I just never recognized myself."
Playing feminine roles was torture. So, finally, in December, he decided to reveal his true self. And, what surprised Eliot was the amount of positivity.
He was ready to risk it all, his love life and career. But, his story gave people a lot to think and talk about. His agent was contacted by casting directors, saying that they would love to see him in future productions.
Standing Up For Trans People Everywhere

Though we're still far from being a society that accepts people for who they are, there are some changes. President Biden recently lifted the ban on transgender people in the military. Hollywood's hiring more trans actors than ever.
For Elliot, things are rather clear:
"To all trans people who deal with harassment, self-loathing, abuse, and the threat of violence every day: I see you, I love you, and I will do everything I can to change this world for the better."
Page is aware that his position made things easier:
"My privilege has allowed me to have resources to get through and to be where I am today, and of course, I want to use that privilege and platform to help in the ways I can."
Elliot Finally Found His Peace

The actor opened up about the security people tend to feel when they are surrounded by what's familiar. He stated:
"People cling to these firm ideas [about gender] because it makes people feel safe. But if we could just celebrate all the wonderful complexities of people, the world would be such a better place."
Yet, despite realizing that the world's far from perfect, Elliot is happy:
"No matter the challenges and difficult moments of this, nothing amounts to getting to feel how I feel now."
He will continue to work on his projects and to be an advocate for equality.
"I'm really excited to act, now that I'm fully who I am, in this body."
Elliot's Words To Those Who Are Struggling
The actor shared that he asked his mother whether he could be a boy. The 34-year-old Elliot is opening the doors to many, but he knows that the road ahead is not all about roses and unicorns.
Yet, we are looking forward to more of his thoughtful and insightful messages. They are personal, yet so many people can find themselves in these words:

The Heartwarming Support

Famous or not, people shared their excitement, and it seems that Elliot's words had woken up empathy and a sense of togetherness.
We want to express our support to the actor while hoping that the future will be much more acceptable for those who are simply a bit different. To those who are not what some norms told them to be.
Here are some of the tweets that he got while talking about his new life:
