Eat Your Way To Sensational Sex

There are two things that most people love to do. One is to eat delicious food; the other is to have great sex. But, what if you could combine the two (not at the same time… for now) and eat your way to sensational sex – all thanks to your diet?

Let’s think about how we eat. We touch our food, catch the drips of juice running down our chins, lick the grease and flavor from our fingers, and when it’s really good?

You’ll most likely let out an ‘Mmmm, this is so good’.

It is a sensual and nourishing process. (Let’s put aside the oven pizza and microwave meals for now…). The texture of the food, dipping in sauces, and the mix of flavors fulfill biological and mental needs.

Let’s think about how we have sex (let’s go vanilla for now). We touch our partners’ body, catch the drips of juice running down our chins, lick the flavor from our fingers, and when it’s really good?

You’ll most likely let out an ‘Mmmmm, this is so good’ – as a minimum.

Often, fast and furious, and 3 minutes of fireworks and friction are ideal. But in general, sex, too, is a nourishing process. It can connect you, relieve frustrations, reduce headaches, and leave you feeling fulfilled, satisfied, and content.

And what if you could use food to increase longevity, the pleasure, and even improve your sex drive? It’s no secret that both chocolate and oysters have been used as an aphrodisiac for years. But what about a sweet juicy apple? Or perhaps a large head of broccoli? What foods can help you to improve your sex life?

Improve Your Sexual Stamina With These Foods

Eat Your Way To Sensational Sex

Sure there are times when a 5-minute quickie is a perfect thing. Other times, it’s the long-haul that you want. The one that leaves you both sticky, sweaty, and snooze-ready.

A couple of foods can increase your stamina between the sheets (and in general). Having a healthy diet will help your whole body anyway, but improving your sex with some food? What’s not to love?

Bananas

These yellow beauties have what you need. Vitamin B6, potassium, fiber, fats, protein, and carbohydrates – in the perfectly proportioned package. If you eat your banana 30 minutes before your – ahem ‘workout’ – it will reduce the chance of cramp and give you an energy boost.

Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate increases your stamina due to the high levels of cocoa. Cocoa increases blood flow, which aids in stimulation during sex. All that extra blood flow keeps the oxygen pumping, and you’re able to go for longer.

Chocolate also increases the feel-good chemicals serotonin and dopamine in the brain.

Maca

This little known superfood is reported to increase libido and stamina too. While there need to be more studies about Maca root, in a double-blind study in 2002, the Maca root groups reported improved sexual desire.

Improve Your Libido With These Foods

Thank you, Mother Nature, for blessing us with some delicious ways to boost our sex drive. It’s not uncommon for people’s libido to rise and fall – because ‘life,’ but you can indulge in a few of these foods to improve your sexual function. Nature’s viagra to the rescue!

Saffron

Not only is saffron delicious, but it’s used to reduce stress and act as an aphrodisiac. A small study found that saffron improved desire, arousal, and sexual pleasure, too. So if you ever needed a reason to cook Saffron Rice or Saffron Gnocchetti for your sexual partner – this is it.

Pomegranate

Ah, the pomegranate. Filled with juicy balls of fruit and more seeds than you know what to do with. You could skip the hassle and drink down a daily glass of pomegranate juice instead. A study showed an increase in testosterone levels for those who started to consume a glass of juice a day.

Why does this happen? There is a huge amount of polyphenolic antioxidants in pomegranate juice; this reduces stress and helps blood pressure.

Tasting Better Down There

Eat Your Way To Sensational Sex

Okay, so genitals and various body fluids just taste some type of way. So long as they are clean usually, they will have a natural or musky taste and smell. And, while you’re not going to taste like a strawberry sundae unless you lube up, if you are worried about how you taste (but you really shouldn’t be), then here are a couple of foods that can help put your mind at ease.

There is little to no research on this topic (why?!), but anecdotal evidence suggests the following:

The natural sugars found in cucumbers, pineapples, blueberries, and mangos improve the odor and flavor of other bodily secretions – this will include the vagina.

For semen, the more fruit you eat, the better.

Sperm passes through something called the ampulla, which adds fructose and has the same antioxidants as mushrooms (now we really are deep in the food and sex situation). You’d need to drink or eat plenty of fruit in questions over several days to notice a difference, though.

Are There Vitamins For Better Sex?

If music is the food of love, play on. Or maybe – if food is the way to better lovin’ eat on; a modern twist on a classic?

You might be wondering then if these foods can impact your sex life, then surely it is about what they contain in terms of vitamins and nutrients. Therefore can supplements improve sexual performance?

Studies have shown that out of 3,400 participants, those who had a vitamin D deficiency were 32% more likely to have erection issues. If there were ever a reason to eat vitamin C rich foods, this would be it – orange anyone?

A vitamin B complex could raise your B9 levels, which will help maintain an erection. “Niacin alone can improve the erectile function in patients suffering from moderate to severe ED (erectile dysfunction) and dyslipidemia.”

Zinc helps to boost testosterone and prevents testosterone from being turned into estrogen. Raising the libido to the roof.

Omega-3 fatty acids help to balance out progesterone and estrogen levels. This increases dopamine, and that increases your nitric oxide levels. Why should you care? Because these, in turn, improves the dilation of blood vessels (the throbbing sensation during arousal) and lead to those big orgasms.

Magnesium makes it tricky for testosterone to bind to proteins. The reason this is great is that it allows more testosterone to flow through your system. Giving you a higher sex drive.

Not only that, but it helps reduce stress too.

Is There A Recipe For Better Sex?

While you’re probably not going to be mashing avocado, watermelon, and bananas into a single dish any time soon, several recipes can help you eat your way to sensational sex. Here is one of them:

Sweet Potato Curry

It has a huge amount of potassium, B vitamins, Vitamins C, and magnesium. The chilies warm up the body and increase blood flow and produce endorphins (happy hormones). And, you can throw in some saffron for fun too.

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable or coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon peeled and minced fresh ginger (from a 1-inch piece)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons vegan Thai red curry paste
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, cubed
  • 1 can of coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 bag baby spinach
  • Juice from 1 medium lime
  • Cooked rice

For the lazy chef, put all the ingredients in a slow cooker, and take it out 6 hours later. For those who want to impress in the kitchen:

  • Fruit your garlic and ginger, stir and enjoy the fragrances
  • Add the curry paste and cook for another minute
  • Add your potatoes, let them get coated in the sticky sauce
  • Add the coconut milk
  • Let it all combine and cook down until your sweet potatoes are soft
  • Add your spinach
  • Put the curry over your rice, and squeeze the lime over.

Lick the lime from your fingers, serve the warming dish, enjoy, digest, then head to bed for some sensual sex.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to buy some dark chocolate…
