A tattoo addict went blind after undergoing an agonizing procedure to turn her eyes blue.
Amber Luke, from New South Wales, Australia, has spent more than $19,000 (£14,000) on her body transformations.
Some of her extreme body modifications include tongue splits and earlobes stretches. She also has more than 200 tattoos from head to toe and has had breast augmentation, cheek and lip fillers, and ear implants.
But Amber, AKA the ‘Blue Eyed White Dragon, says the most painful procedure was getting blue ink injected into her eyeballs.
“I can’t even begin to describe to you what the feeling was like.”
“The best thing I can give you is once the eyeball was penetrated with the ink, it felt like [the tattoo artist] grabbed 10 shards of glass and rubbed it in my eye.”
“That happened four times per eye and it was pretty brutal.”
Following the procedure, Amber revealed that she went blind for three weeks.
“My artist went too deep into my eyeball.”
“If your eyeball procedure’s done correctly, you’re not supposed to go blind at all. I was blind for three weeks. That was pretty brutal.”
Amber added that she doesn’t want to get extreme body modifications again.
“I don’t plan on getting any more body modifications that are extreme in that manner. So no more tongue splitting, no more eyeball tattooing.”
Her mom, Vikki, also spoke out about the transformation, admitting she broke down in tears when she found out about her daughter’s eyeballs procedure.
“I cried. I said a few choice words as anyone would, ‘why would you do that to yourself, knowing that there is a danger to it.'”
“As we know as the parents, some kids will just do what they want to do, regardless of what we say.”
“But I brought her into the world with the best skills that I could give. The best that I could give her is just for me to be there and go along the journey with her. And prop her up, and love her.”
“She never saw herself as being beautiful. And she didn’t see herself through my eyes.”
“But I’ve supported her because I could actually see the transition, the growth, and how it’s made her come to who she is today.”
Despite going blind for weeks, Amber said she has ‘no regrets’ over her body transformation.
“I’m not worried what I’m going to look like when I’m older. I understand that everyone ages and I don’t think anyone will be looking too ‘pretty’ at 70 years old.”
“At the end of the day, it’s the only thing I can take to my grave with me.”
Since unveiling her new look, Amber said she has received mixed responses from fans.
“I gained a lot of support and positive vibes from complete strangers. There was always the few nasty opinionated ones who try to make you feel inadequate. But I never let them get to me.”
“I’m not harming anyone in the process. I’m doing what I want to do, and if it makes me get up in the morning and be a happy person, then so be it.”
