Dog Walks A Long Way To Find Woman Who Gave Him Food

We don't deserve dogs!

A not-so-tiny fella named Ted walked for miles to thank a woman who fed him. Hey, it's no secret that a way to a man's heart is through the stomach. Though, in this case, the story is way more fascinating than catching a human male.

Ted Is A Shelter Dog

This handsome puppy lived in a Northwest Territories SPCA shelter in Canada since the beginning of the year.

Even the best shelters cannot provide enough playtime and petting as each dog deserves. But, despite the lack of necessities, these dogs are capable of offering more love than we thought possible.

Like other shelter dogs, Ted was scared, confused, but all that changed when he met one lady.

Ted Meets Abbey

Two days after he arrived at the shelter, Ted, a German shepherd, and Akita mix met Abbey Boyd. She is his angel, but we will get to that.

She wanted to take him for a walk, but he was too scared. So, Abbey decided to give the dog cheese-flavored bacon trips. She also noticed that he needed more space, and he got it.

At first, there was little communication. Abbey would bring Ted food, and that was about it.

Abby had to go to the airport, and on her way back, someone started barking in front of her home.

Ted's Amazing Adventure

It seems that Ted was following his mom-to-be, found a way to sneak into her backyard and waited.

Abbey called the shelter to make sure that the dog, in fact, was Ted. She also recognized a spot on his nose, but it was shocking to hear that Ted's not in his cannel. He was home.

Abbey's home didn't allow pets. So, instead of giving up on this handsome guy, she moved them both.

Ted And Abbey Together Forever

Needless to say, the two are living their best lives, and Ted is no longer afraid of anything. Abbey simply said:

"It could be a complete coincidence, but I'm from Yellowknife. Everything's a sign when it comes to animals."

"I can't ignore a sign like that. He showed up at my house, out of how many people [that] live here? All the dogs. All the smells. He chose my house. Where I am."

Heartwarming, to say the least!
