Many things should never go near your vagina, and frozen treats are at the top of the list.
No matter how hot the heatwave is, women are being warned to "stop putting ice lollies in their vaginas to cool down."
It's essential in this hot weather to take good care of yourself. Drink a lot of water, take a cold shower, lay in bed with a damp towel draped over your feet, and apply plenty of sunscreen, that sort of thing.
But Heatwave is Making People Do Strange Things

In 2019, people were coming up with bizarre trends to cool down in the heatwave, and some of them are really unsafe. For instance, sticking a popsicle up your nether regions.
According to reports, many women are feeling the heat to the extremes that they've decided to cool down by inserting ice lollies into their vaginas.
You might think inserting something cold in your body is a sure way to cool yourself down. But doctors are urging women not to shove frozen treats in their vaginas!
Not only will ice lollies not cool you down, but they could also cause some severe damage down there, according to the doctors.
There're Unconventional Methods Out There to Cool Yourself Down

Summer months often see a peak in people frantically experimenting with just anything to cool down their bodies.
Though many people whip out their light and most revealing outfits, some individuals are awfully inventive with new methods to cool themselves.
And Eating Spicy Food is One of the Methods
It turns out sweating could actually lower the temperatures in your body. So, eating a spicy meal will make you sweat without necessarily raising your body temperature.
And the more you sweat, the more your body temperature lowers. But ensure you load up a deodorant before showing down.
Other People Put Their Bed Sheets in the Freezer
You can put your bedsheets and pillowcases in your freezers for a few hours, and put them back in your bed just before sleeping.
But There's One Slightly Puzzling Method Popping Out in Town

This method involves ice lollies, but not in the way we're used to them. Since our childhood, popsicles have been the go-to summer treat as they're fun, tasty, and help us stay cool in hot summers.
And some women are using the sweet treat in a totally different way, 'sticking them into their vaginas.'
This behavior needs to stop!
Warning against inserting lollies into the vaginas, Dr. Sarah Welsh, the co-founder of HANX condom brand, said:
"The vagina is composed of very delicate and sensitive skin."
"Hence, things that may seem innocent to other areas of the body, if they come in contact with the vagina, can cause infections, irritations, and damage."
"There are many things that should never go near a vagina, and ice lollies are up there. The ice can stick to the delicate skin of the vagina and cause real trauma and damage."
"What's more, putting any foodstuff inside your vagina can introduce microbes, disrupting its normal balance and allowing an environment for bacteria to grow and infections to develop."
Ice lollies could also interfere with the natural pH of a woman's vagina, which can cause thrush or irritation.
Just imagine a popsicle melting or breaking off inside your vagina! This could even cause critical damages to your female genitals.

Dr. Shree Datta, a consultant gynecologist from MyHealthcare Clinic, seconded the caution shared by Dr. Welsh saying:
"My advice would be to avoid any foreign bodies in the vagina for risk of infection."
"I would suggest loose cotton underwear and avoiding tight clothing to prevent any irritation and dermatitis developing. A cool shower – without internal douching – and keeping well hydrated should suffice."
