Doctor Strange actor, Zara Phythian, and her husband Victor Marke have been found guilty of 14 counts of sexual activity with a child. Together, the couple abused the girl from 2005 to 2008.
While she was handed an 8-year jail term, Phythian's husband Marke was sentenced to 14 years behind bars. The sentencing took place at Nottingham Crown Court.
In addition to the joint charges, Marke was also found guilty of assaulting another victim.
Phythian was in Doctor Strange in 2016. She also operated a martial arts academy.
During the hearing, she was told that the abuse the girl suffered at her hands was considered aggravated because it went on for such a long time.

When sentencing the two, Judge Mark Watson said that he had every reason to believe that the pair had planned the abuse before it even began. The judge told Marke that he was the "driving force" behind the abuse.
The judge also said that Marke knew of the assault when it first took place but acted like he was asleep. The court believed that this incident was planned.
The judge told Phythian that her husband influenced her strange behavior from an early age. During the cross-examination, she had said that she was not infatuated with Victor Marke, but the judge thought otherwise since the relationship started when Phythian was young.
Nevertheless, the judge pointed out that it did not excuse what she had done. At the time the incidents took place, she was successful in her own right, which means that she decided to be part of the abuse without undue influence.
After the sentence, she was taken to the cells. She waved at the public gallery, and someone said, "I love you, Zara."
Phythian is 37 years old, and she is from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, while Marke is currently 59 years old.
The two were told that they had to serve at least half of their sentences before being eligible for parole.

Marke was found guilty of four counts of indecent assault charges against another underage girl. He assaulted the girl at least eight times between 2002 and 2003.
He was also described as having a "high level of depravity" while committing these offenses.
During the trial, Phythian denied that she was a pedophile. On the other hand, her husband, a martial arts instructor, broke down while on the stand.
The court was told that the abuse Phythian was involved in began when she was in her early twenties. She asked the victim if she wanted to "play dare" and then asked her to perform a sexual act she had done on Marke.
In court, the unnamed victim said that Marke threatened her and asked her to film some of the abuse she went through at the hands of the couple.
In court, Phythian said she got a chance to appear in films after she was discovered at a martial arts contest in the United States. She also revealed that she has a production company.
She started a relationship with Marke when she was 19 years old.
In 2016, when she was in Doctor Strange, she was at the height of her career. The film had Benedict Cumberbatch as the star, and she managed to get the role of "brunette zealot."
Marke said that he had not touched one of the victims sexually. He also said that the other victim was 18 when she gave him oral sex while he was drunk.
