A couple, who were happily married and had three children, disclosed that they found out they were related when they took a DNA test for their family tree.
After being together for 17 years and married for over a decade, Celina and Joseph Quinones, who live in Colorado, began exploring their family history when Celina took the initiative.
Celina, who is a mother of three, had not delved far into her ancestry before she came across a startling revelation: Joseph was actually her cousin.
Under the username @realestatemommas on TikTok, she shared the story of how she and her partner came to the realization that they were not just married to each other.
She wrote: 'Married my husband in 2006. Not thinking anything of it we had three kids. Come to find out we were related and cousins.'

Having authored a book on her personal experiences, Celina quipped that the revelation was a "great conversation starter," but advised other couples to investigate their own ancestry.
The video gained immense popularity, garnering four million views, but unfortunately, many viewers left critical comments about their ongoing relationship, with some suggesting that the couple should part ways.
Celina expressed that when she initially found out that her husband was, in fact, her cousin, she felt devastated. However, she emphasized that their love has only grown stronger, and she chose to disregard the unfavorable remarks advising them to separate.
She detailed how they managed to move forward from this revelation, stating: "This was three kids in that I found out we were related. I did my DNA test I think in 2016 and yeah it was devastating because I was like "babe we're related are we even supposed to be together? This is weird". It really freaked me out."
"I wouldn't change it for the world... Cousband and wife for life! There is a reason why good couples look alike. I am just over here raising awareness."

She explained: "My kids and my husband are my everything and we looked past it. All our kids have 10 fingers and 10 toes. It's a good ice breaker lol."
In a subsequent video, Celina clarified that neither she nor Joseph had any inkling that they were related when they began their relationship, and they had dated for four months before getting engaged.
She explained: "17 years with my cousband. No, we didn't know till we did a DNA test. We had a four-month courtship before we got married. He is still and will be my everything."
"I ain't gonna let a little bit of blood destroy what we created, this beautiful family."
Celina responded to the negative comments, affirming that they would never allow other people's opinions to affect their relationship. She also reiterated that they had no knowledge of their familial connection until they took the DNA test.
She wrote: "Let me divorce him because we didn't know. Let me just tell our kids their parents are not together anymore because of other people's opinions."
"No thank you we will just be staying cousins, spouses and lovers forever. Now go throw up in your mouth some more."
