It is not as bitter as when the tea is made in hot water, as in iced or traditional tea, because there is no release of tannins, which give tea its bitter taste. Cold brew tea also has higher antioxidant amounts and lower caffeine.

You can make it using hot or cold tea, depending on your preference and the day's temperature. While there are many tea lattes variations, the chai latte is the most common. This westernized version of Indian masala chai can be made using oat, cow, buttermilk, or other types of milk.


You can include additional herbs and spices in your chai latte, like fennel seeds, ginger, clove, cinnamon, or cardamom.
