Delivery Driver Who Has Worked Since The Age Of 13 Gets Emotional After Receiving Tip From Customer

Following the circulation of a touching video on social media, in which an elderly delivery driver was given a $100 tip, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to establish a special retirement fund for the grandfather.

A video was shared on TikTok by user Sabrina Forbes on January 11th, in which she indicated via on-screen text that she had purchased $500 worth of groceries.

Grandfather Ron Grim, who was later identified as the delivery driver, received a $3 tip from her, which pleased him.

"Hey sweetheart, I'm going to make your day even more better," she said as she filmed herself, Forbes asked the delivery driver to return the tip. He graciously complied and gave back the $3 without any hesitation, expressing his gratitude to her nonetheless.

However, Forbes had a purpose behind her actions. She intended to uplift the man's spirits by substituting the original $3 tip with a $100 one, which caused him to become visibly moved.

"That's the biggest tip that I ever got in my life," Grim replies in disbelief.

"Well listen honey," Forbes replies. "It's cold, you're a little bit older and you're out here doing good things for people."

With enthusiasm, Grim declares that he will take a photo of his well-deserved gratuity, while the two make their way toward his vehicle to retrieve the remaining items.

"Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. My heart can't take this," he can be heard saying.

The video has garnered more than 9.3 million views, and over 18,200 comments and 1.7 million likes were left by viewers who were also moved by the interaction.

"He thought he did something wrong for like half a second," one TikTok user commented alongside a crying emoji.

Another user on social media responded: "THESE are the older people that we need tobe raising money for! He is sooo sweet and grateful!!!"

A third wrote: "He probably thought you was asking [for] your tp back before you gave him the 100 the slight panic that he did something wrong then he was happy."

Another individual who left a comment wrote: "Oh his reaction absolutely melted my entire heart this is so beautiful thank you for doing this for this incredible man."

While another commenter wrote: "I'm in TEARS."

Numerous comments requested the creation of a GoFundMe page to support Grim. On January 11th, Chad Hutzell, Grim's grandson, established a page named 'Oh, My Heart' - Retirement Fund.

The page's description clarified that it was established in response to the "positive comments and requests" generated by Forbes' TikTok post.

The description also disclosed that Grim had to retire from his job on the railways due to health issues, which subsequently led to him needing to undergo open-heart surgery.

Although the surgery was successful, Grim had to confront a "lengthy road to recovery."

In a subsequent video, Grim disclosed that he had been employed since 13. The GoFundMe narrative penned by Hutzell includes: "My grandfather continues to work because he loves to meet people and stay active. He feels that getting out and staying active keeps him young at heart."

"He is overwhelmed by all the positivity."

After posting a link to the GoFundMe page on her TikTok account, Forbes remarked: "No need to thank me for doing God's work. It's what we're here to do. If you feel the urge to help anyone in your way- don't hesitate, just help."

The GoFundMe page can be accessed for donations here.
