Deaf Man Sues Pornhub For Not Offering Subtitles On Their Videos

Wonders never cease. Believe it or not, Pornhub is getting sued by a deaf Brooklyn man, Yaroslav Suris, for not having closed captions on their videos. Due to this oversight, he “cannot enjoy video content” on the site.

Based on his lawsuit, the popular adult entertainment site should be held responsible for denial of access. He thinks the law backs him up.

Are you surprised by this? Be ready for more.

1. He Doesn’t Want Anyone Messing With His P*rn

According a suit he filed on January 16 in the Eastern District of New York, Yaroslav tried to watch the videos “Hot Step Aunt Babysits Disobedient Nephew” and “Sexy Cop Gets Witness To Talk” on the popular website in October 2019 and January 2020, respectively. Neither of these videos had closed captioning, and neither did all other videos he tried to watch at the time. Yep, he is has been wronged big time.

2. He Thinks He Has A Case

Based on what Suris says, he has a case against Pornhub. He strongly believes that sites that hinder access to hard-of-hearing individuals are discriminating against them. But does he really? People with hearing problems can still watch the videos, but without following the dialogue. And to be honest, how many watch porn for the dialogue.

3. Pornhub Isn’t The Only Culprit

He claims that YouPorn and RedTube are also guilty of this offence, and that they have violated the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act based on which he has filed a lawsuit against Pornhub. By this legal provision, companies have a responsibility to provide “full and equal enjoyment” of goods, services, facilities, and privileges.

4. Pornhub Has Responded

Some of the videos on the site have closed captions, according to Vice President Corey Price. Therefore, Suri could focus on this section. The head of the company pointed out that they “do not generally comment on active lawsuits” but that he “would like to take this opportunity to point out that we do have a closed captions category.”

5. Suris Has Sued Before

Fox News and the New York Post have also had to answer to lawsuits by Suris over a similar issue. But it’s not clear if he won these cases or not. However, based on this current lawsuit, Suris hopes to get compensated for damages, civil penalties and fines. No to be judgy, but that sounds a lot like someone looking for an easy payday.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Suris has a point with his discrimination story? Personally, I doubt that the case will go as far as he expects it to. But that’s just me.
