What a joyous occasion! The British couple welcomes a new baby, but here's the plot twist.

The dad, Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, 50, is in a relationship with 25-year old Scott Hutchinson. They got engaged in August, but the real issue is that Hutchinson previously dated Drewitt-Barlow's daughter.

So, it's a double betrayal for Saffron, 20. Or so we thought.

Not all is lost

Though it seems odd, Saffron seems to be supportive about the relationship.

The whole thing sounds like a disaster, but it takes a certain level of maturity and a lot of understanding to accept the situation.

The baby was supposed to be born in October, but she was a bit early. The happy couple revealed on Instagram that the surrogate got pregnant on her first attempt.

Barrie's Instagram account, which has over 40,000 followers, is the perfect place to show off the new addition to their family.

The couple wrote:

"Welcome to the world our beautiful daughter – Valentina Willow Drewitt-Barlow."

"Our girl is almost a month early, but she is perfect. We feel totally blessed. I love you, Scott."

They thought they were going to get triplets

Barrie Drewitt-Barlow and Scott Hutchinson's first announcement was that they are expecting triplets.

Barrie wrote:

"I am overjoyed to share the news that Scott and I are pregnant with triplet girls. We are using a surrogate and she's fallen pregnant at the first attempt. Our family has too many boys and too much testosterone!"

However, they later told their Instagram followers that they were excited about their "baby girl," and they are grateful that she's happy and healthy.

The couple is one of the first gay dads in the UK.

What remains unclear is when they started dating. Was it love at first sight? Or did Hutchinson blindsided young Saffron?

Either way, we wish them all the luck in the world. And according to some British tabloids, they are already going for a baby number 2.
