The father of a 16-year-old girl took matters into his own hands after she bullied a cancer patient at school by pulling off her wig. The man, who posted about the incident on Reddit before deleting it, shared that his daughter had been reprimanded for mocking the student who had lost her hair due to cancer treatment.

In addition to verbally abusing her, the daughter went as far as to physically remove the girl's wig. Since the daughter showed no signs of remorse, the father believed he needed to take a more direct approach to teach her a lesson, and thus, he shaved off her hair.

The Girls Did Not Get Along Previously

The father clarified that even though there was a pre-existing conflict between his daughter and the victim, it did not justify his daughter's actions. The reason for their feud was that the daughter was dating the victim's ex-boyfriend, and they had been at odds ever since.

He added that his daughter's behavior was not consistent with the values he taught her and was disgusted to hear about it from the deputy principal.

The Girl Did Not Seem To Think What She'd Done Was Wrong

At this stage, the dad decided that enough was enough, as his daughter showed no remorse and even justified her actions by claiming that the girl deserved it.

He Gave His Daughter Two Options

The man was determined to address the situation and presented his daughter with two choices. Firstly, she could dispose of every electronic device she owned, including her phone and computer, and he would not replace them. Alternatively, she could go to a hairdresser and have her head shaved completely. In the end, the daughter chose to have her head shaved. It was also made clear that she would not be allowed to use a wig and would have to attend school without hair until it grew back.

The Teen's Mother Thinks The Dad Went "Way Overboard"

In his post, the father mentioned that his ex-wife has moved on with her new family and he has full custody of their daughter. As a result, he did not consult with her about the punishment. When the daughter's mother found out, she was angry and argued that shaving her daughter's head would make her a target for bullying, which was the point of the punishment - to teach her compassion.

Regardless Of What Anyone Else Thinks, The Dad Has No Regrets

"I came up with the punishment because I thought my daughter had an extreme lack of empathy for the girl she bullied," he explained. "My daughter knows this and that is what really disgusted me with her behavior. It demonstrated a complete and utter lack of empathy. I hoped that her going to school bald and walking a mile in the other girl's shoes would teach her a lesson."
