Dad Married Daughter After She Won 'Competition' With Sister To Have Sex With Him

The prevalence of the internet and social media platforms has made it easier to come across shocking and appalling stories almost every day, and the following one is no exception. A young woman, Samantha Kershner, at the age of 21, engaged in sexual activity with her biological father, Travis Fieldgrove, and later married him, all of which started as a bizarre competition with her half-sister to determine who would have sex with him first. Unbelievable, right?

1. Kershner Never Knew Her Father Growing Up

Kershner was brought up by her mother and had no contact with her biological father until she was 17, when she persuaded her mother to share his identity. Fieldgrove, now 40, and Kershner met soon after, and for the first three years, they claimed to have had a typical father-daughter relationship.

2. Then Things Went Very, Very Wrong

It's unclear when Kershner and Fieldgrove's relationship turned romantic, but Kershner confessed to authorities that they had sex for the first time in September 2018 as part of a competition with her half-sister to see who could sleep with Fieldgrove first. Unbelievably, they continued their relationship and eventually got married.

3. They Got Married In October 2018

When their relationship was investigated by the police on reports of incest, Kershner and Fieldgrove visited the Adams County Courthouse in Hastings to get married, perhaps thinking it would help them avoid trouble. However, their plan did not work.

4. They Were Both Arrested And Charged

Kershner and Fieldgrove faced charges of incest and were subsequently arrested. However, Kershner managed to avoid going to prison by pleading no contest to misdemeanor charges of false reporting and was instead given nine months of probation. Unfortunately, Fieldgrove wasn't as fortunate, as he was sentenced to two years of imprisonment and will be forbidden from contacting Kershner after his release.

5. Fieldgrove Claims He Did Not Belive Kershner Was His Daughter

According to a DNA test, there was a 99.999% chance that Kershner was indeed Fieldgrove's daughter, which led to his attorney stating that he was ashamed of the relationship and wished it had never occurred. "Fieldgrove is embarrassed by the offense and wishes that it had never happened," said his defense attorney Joel Loeffler to the Omaha World-Herald. Furthermore, Fieldgrove has a brain injury and is not a high-functioning individual.
