It is a well-known fact that women are not generally very confident with their sexuality. Not every woman you meet is proud of how her body looks and wants to show it off to the public.
To many women, looking at themselves in the mirror is not a satisfying experience. Fortunately, Brooke Shields is on a mission to change that for all ladies worldwide.
The middle-aged woman is both a model and an actress, but you would never guess she is in her fifties from her photos.
One thing she has going for her is the apparent confidence she exudes. Many women years her junior can only fantasize about the boldness she displays with regard to her own body.
She is modeling in a new Jordache campaign. Shields last modeled for a denim campaign more than four decades ago when she was 15.
The person behind the camera was Cass Bird.
From the ad, she looks fantastic. She is wearing a pair of jeans, and she firmly believes that the ad sends a powerful message to aging women.
Shields believes that women should exhibit body positivity regardless of their age.
This shows just how proud she is of this important moment in her life. In an interview with the media, she talked about how big of an honor it was for her to be represented at such an age.
"There's a knowledge that comes with age, and this feels less like a job and more like a privilege."
For someone her age, Shields thinks that authenticity is essential. She was proud that she is 56, and she was against retouching her photo, but she still managed to wow many with her looks.
Obviously, seeing celebrities like Shields stepping up to prove that women don't have to be compelled to look perfect is quite refreshing. Typically, famous people are obsessed with how they look and how they are portrayed in the media.
Consequently, doing away with unattainable beauty standards is a good thing for regular people and celebrities.
Shields chose to work with Jordache because of their support for body positivity. While referencing the brand's slogan, "You've got the look," she revealed that people were saying, "Well, I want the look. You've got it, so I want it."
She also revealed that Jordache was part of the new mentality. The company supports the notion of sexiness and boldness, which is apparent because they always feature strong and ambitious women in their ads.
For Jordache, it was not just about modeling but also celebrating female strength. This is why Shields had no problem embracing her appearance even though she is close to her sixties.
That said, Shields is still quite cautious of the kind of assignments she is part of to avoid getting "exploited." She opts for projects that are honest about the opinions of the subjects involved.
