The man who ran away with a Ukrainian refugee, Antony Garnett, 29, has been ordered not to get in touch with Lorna, his former partner, and the mother of their two daughters. The 28-year-old mother took him to court, alleging that Garnett had sent her abusive texts.

Garnett has been warned that he should not be within 100 meters of their family home in Bradford. He lived there with his wife and daughters before he fell in love with Sofiia Karkadym, 22.
Sofiia is from Lviv. She fled Ukraine after Russia attacked the country in February this year.

Garnett agreed to the non-molestation restraining order without admissions. This keeps him from calling, texting, and emailing his ex or even trying to get in touch with her through social media.
He said: "If it helps her sleep at night then so be it."
Garnett claimed that he had done nothing wrong. He also said he had not hired a lawyer because he felt he had nothing to defend.

Although the couple is not married, Lorna started using Garnett's surname through a deed poll.
Lorna has also agreed not to make "derogatory" messages about him on social media. She will also get rid of any such messages she had made in the past.
She is understandably upset with what Garnett did:
"I want nothing to do with him. I just want him to leave me alone."
When he arrived at the court, he was wearing shades and a gray checkered suit. Sofiia was not with him.
Lorna was at the back of the court. Her solicitor, Sadia Ali, explained the terms of the restraining order.
Garnett is starting a career as a rap artist. In court, he explained that he did not need to go to the house:
"I'm that busy now with media, TV, and music that I don't need to go to the house."
He fell for Sofiia after he and his wife offered her a place to stay after she fled Ukraine. Garnett had picked her up from Manchester Airport after Sofiia flew in from Germany, where she had been waiting for her visa to get approved.
After two weeks of staying with her, Lorna grew suspicious and asked her to leave, but Garnett decided to pack up as well and they left together.
Later, he said he was sorry for what had happened and said he and Sofiia were planning to spend the rest of their lives together. He insisted that they did not plan on doing what they did and that they had no intention of hurting anyone.
Garnett also said:
"If the UK was invaded we'd hope the rest of the world would help. That's all I wanted to do, but things took a very unexpected twist."
Lorna alleged that Sofiia had plans of stealing Garnett from him, but she responded by saying: "I'm no homewrecker."
An estimated 54,000 Ukrainian refugees are living in the UK under government schemes.
