Brene Brown Quotes Every Woman Needs To Know

Brene Brown is one of the most amazing women on the planet, a New York Times bestselling author and a research professor at the University of Houston. She has spent most of her life researching courage, leadership, empathy, and other human behavior elements.

During her long and fruitful career, she has said some truly amazing things that can inspire any woman.

For example:

"Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we're supposed to be and embracing who we are."

Remember to always be yourself and stop forcing yourself to be the person you think you should be. Enjoy yourself and enjoy discovering yourself.

You are not meant to be perfect, which is what makes you so unique and great. Which is why she said:

"Want to be happy? Stop trying to be perfect."

But she's also right there to remind you that being imperfect isn't weird or bad - it's actually beautiful.

"You are imperfect, you are wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging."

And even so imperfect we can belong as:

"Because true belonging only happens when we present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world, our sense of belonging can never be greater than our level of self-acceptance."

Loving yourself, no matter who you are and owning it is one of the most important things you can do, explains Brene in this quote:

"I now see how owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do."

But if you don't love and accept yourself, Brene says it could be dangerous for your mind:

"If you trade your authenticity for safety, you may experience the following: anxiety, depression, eating disorders, addiction, rage, blame, resentment, and inexplicable grief."

Brene has researched vulnerability in depth and how it affects who we are. She's an expert and here's what she has to say about it:

"Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity, and change."

Many people nowadays believe that vulnerability is weakness, but that's not true.

"Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren't always comfortable, but they're never weakness."

Brene believes in going through this life vulnerable to all of its changes, as this is the only way we can truly experience the best things in life.

"To love someone fiercely, to believe in something with your whole heart, to celebrate a fleeting moment in time, to fully engage in a life that doesn't come with guarantees – these are risks that involve vulnerability and often pain. But, I'm learning that recognizing and leaning into the discomfort of vulnerability teaches us how to live with joy, gratitude and grace."

And finally, she's there to tell you that true value comes from digging a little deeper:

"DIG deep–get deliberate, inspired, and going."
