Bradley Cooper Still Lives With His Mom For A Heartwarming Reason

There was an incredibly heartwarming reason why Bradley Cooper had his mother move in and live with him.

Spending a large portion of his adult life living in the same house as his mother, the A Star is Born actor believes that they still "need each other" after the death of his father.

Cooper took an acting hiatus in 2011 and moved into his parents' house to spend more time with his father, Charles Cooper, who was diagnosed with lung cancer.

He did everything in his power to save his father's life, wanting to surround him with his love and attention.

Regrettably, just five months after the actor moved in, Cooper's father lost his long battle with cancer back in 2011.

The death of his father was a significant blow to Cooper's mom, Gloria Campano, who shared a strong marital bond with her partner.

Due to his close relationship with his family, Cooper extended an offer to his mother to move to his home in Los Angeles.

In a 2013 interview with the LA Times, he stated: "And right now, two years after my father's death, this is where we are. My family is very close, and my dad dying was brutal for all of us. It was a schism, and its aftershock has not stopped."

"And we need each other. So here we are. But don't get me wrong. It's not without complications. It's not like I live in a compound and she's in the guesthouse. No. She's in the next room."

He added: "But here's the thing: She's a cool chick. We can hang, and she can roll with the punches. If that wasn't the case, there's no way."

During the strict Covid-19 lockdown in 2020, Campano resided with her son, his daughter Lea, and his two dogs.

Cooper mentioned that he refrained from leaving the house to guarantee his mother's safety, given that she had a condition that rendered her particularly susceptible to the virus.

There is a belief that the pair still reside together, and their incredibly close relationship is evident.

Cooper has a history of inviting Campano to accompany him as his date at various red carpet events, including last year's 2022 Academy Awards ceremony where they attended together.

More recently, Campano poked fun at her son for wearing a pink t-shirt in a T-Mobile commercial during the 2023 Super Bowl.

"Yeah I don't like the way you look," she joked while looking at her son's bright pink T-Mobile employee shirt. "You look like a flamingo."

"I think I know what I'm, doing," he says while trying to sell the phone. "I've been nominated nine times."

"Yeah but you've never won anything," his mom answered back.

In the upcoming 2023 film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Cooper will reprise his role as the voice of Rocket Raccoon. Additionally, he will direct, produce, co-write, and star in Maestro, a Leonard Bernstein biopic for Netflix.

Cooper is set to produce the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Joker titled Joker: Folie à Deux, which will reunite him with Lady Gaga. Gaga is set to star as Harley Quinn in the film.
