Many speculations started after Betty White's death, despite her advanced age. Numerous people used the death of a superstar to push their agenda.

Some outlets reported that Betty died from complications after getting a vaccine against Covid-19.

Jeff Witjas, who confirmed the news on the last day of 2021, issued a statement condemning anti-vaxxers for spreading false quotes, saying that Betty's death "should not be politicized."

Witjas stated:

"Betty died peacefully in her sleep at her home. People are saying her death was related to getting a booster shot three days earlier, but that is not true."

"She died of natural causes. Her death should not be politicized — that is not the life she lived."

The false news about Betty's cause of death started spreading on Twitter. Anti-vaxxers even made up a quote, "Eat healthily and get all your vaccines. I just got boosted today."

This quote was assigned to Betty, though she never wrote or said it, as Witjas clarified:

"She never said that regarding the booster. Betty died of natural causes. She did not have the booster three days before she died."

Betty died less than three weeks before her 100th birthday. She was not feeling good for a while, as her friend Vicki Lawrence confirmed.

Lawrence also confirmed that Betty's last word was "Allen," the name of her last husband, whom she called the love of her life.
