Imagine a workplace disagreement and you probably wouldn't picture a car windshield getting smashed.

Hopefully, that's never the case.

Yet, in Seattle, a conflict between a barist a and a customer escalated dramatically.

Emma Lee, employed at A Taste of Heaven Espresso, was seen on CCTV retrieving a hammer and smashing a customer's car windshield.

The incident was sparked over a disagreement about the cost of a 32-ounce coffee and a 24-ounce water, totaling $22.

Emma noted that she normally charged him $20, but this time the customer demanded to pay less.

"You don't get to name your own price," she told Fox 13.

"No one is forcing you to come here. The argument that he didn't know or was scammed doesn't hold up. The prices are listed."

During the dispute, the man continuously claimed he was unaware of the pricing and felt he was being scammed.

Emma recounted that the man had threatened her by saying, "Nobody is going to miss you."

The 23-year-old also claimed that he had yelled and spat at her while attempting to force open the window.

Eventually, the customer threw his drinks at her.

Soon after, Emma extended out of her booth and shattered the man's car windshield with a hammer.

She then contacted the police and pressed misdemeanor assault charges against the man.

The customer has been permanently banned from Emma's coffee stand, but he might consider suing her in small claims court for the damage to his windshield.

Emma, who typically serves coffee in swimwear, expressed no concern about possibly facing a judge.

She stated, "Why should this kind of interaction be expected because of the environment? It's disgusting. It's OK for him to be outraged, but it's not appropriate for me to respond?"

On Instagram, Emma posted the CCTV footage of the altercation, captioning it: "I want to take a moment to address the real issue here."

"The safety of women, more specifically those that are disproportionately less protected."

"We work alone in this industry, wearing nearly nothing and interacting with men (most of which we don't know) all day."

"The majority of people we meet throughout our shifts are kind, respectful, overall amazing humans!"

"However, on occasion we see the ones that think it is appropriate to get violent both verbally and physically."

The incident has divided opinions; while some criticized Emma's actions, many of her followers defended her.
