When Anthony Bourdain took his own life at the prime age of 61 years, the world shook. Many people mourned the terrible loss after the legendary personality was found unresponsive in a France hotel room.

Tributes flowed, including moving words from world-famous personalities like Gordon Ramsay and Barack Obama.

But that does not mean Bourdain's life did not touch the lives of ordinary people. Many of his fans were shocked at the great loss his death was to them.

A restaurant owner recalled how Bourdain changed his life at a critical time in his life. Jokes aside, Anthony Bourdain touched the lives of many.

Asia Arganto's Influence On Bourdain

There were many touching tributes, but few were as personal as those shared by his partner, Asia Argento. She had been dating Bourdain for two years.

In fact, they were still together when he passed away.

Asia Argento is an Italian actress and director. And after the legend's death, she had this statement to share with the world:

Anthony gave all of himself in everything that he did. His brilliant, fearless spirit touched and inspired so many, and his generosity knew no bounds. He was my love, my rock, my protector.

I am beyond devastated. My thoughts are with this family. I would ask that you respect their privacy and mine.

He was very fond of his Italian lover, and he confessed that she completely changed his life. According to him, she opened his eyes to the issues women all over the world experience every day.

This explains why he was so supportive of her #MeToo and Time's Up movements.

At the Cannes Film Festival, Argento gave a powerful speech that is still vividly remembered by many. She even mentioned the time Harvey Weinstein sexually assaulted her during the unforgettable speech.

Bourdain said the speech left the audience "stunned" and "deeply uncomfortable." He shared it on Twitter, saying it was similar to "dropping a tactical nuke into the ceremony."

Argento Shares A Photo Taken Days Before Bourdain's Death

A photo of the pair was taken 12 days before Bourdain died. They were in a red open-top convertible in Florence, Italy.

As she shared the photo, she also shared a quote:

There is no greater sorrow than to be mindful of the happy time in misery, and that thy Teacher knows.

But, if to recognise the earliest root of love in us thou hast so great desire, I will do even as he who weeps and speaks.

This is not the first time she had shared never-before-seen photos of Bourdain. Unfortunately, in consideration of what eventually transpired, the photos are truly heartbreaking.

Asia Argento also traveled with Bourdain when filming his show, Parts Unknown.

Besides his many heartbroken fans and his partner Argento, Bourdain is also survived by, Ariana, his 11-year-old daughter.
