A lot of times, people are not who they say they are. That is why we hear stories like József Szájer's, an outspoken Hungarian anti-gay politician who was caught in a 25-men lockdown orgy, much to everyone's surprise.

József is an MEP (Member of European Parliament). He is also a member of Fidesz, Hungary's ruling party.

The now-famous orgy party went down in Brussels, and a police raid led to the politician's indiscretions being revealed to the public.

After the scandal, he stepped down for being in breach of Belgium's stringent lockdown regulations.

According to reports by the Belgian press, József was in a 25-man orgy that included two other diplomats from the EU.

After the raid, the politician tried to get away. First of all, he jumped from a first-floor window, then he went down a drainpipe and tried to run away.

But his escape was not as successful as he had hoped. Someone saw him trying to escape and identified him to the police.

As per the public prosecutor's office:

"A passer-by reported to the police that he had seen a man fleeing along the gutter; he was able to identify the man. The man's hands were bloody. It is possible that he may have been injured while fleeing. Narcotics were found in his backpack."

"The man was unable to produce any identity documents. He was escorted to his place of residence, where he identified himself as S. J. (1961) by means of a diplomatic passport."

Diplomatic Immunity Was His Saving Grace

When the police arrested the man, they charged him with violation of lockdown rules and drug possession.

However, the prosecution had to back off and stall the process of charging him, thanks to his diplomatic immunity.

In addition to the hypocrisy that came to light when the anti-gay man was found at a gay orgy, the man's infidelity also came to light as he is a married father of one.

József has since apologized for what he did:

"After the police asked for my identity — since I did not have ID on me — I declared that I was an MEP. The police continued the process and finally issued an official verbal warning and transported me home."

What's ironic is that the politician, together with the Fidesz party, got rid of the legal protections offered against people discriminated against due to their sexual orientation.

He has also publicly criticized a children's book with an LGBTQ character. József has voted to ensure that trans people get no legal recognition.

The Hungarian government is currently under the leadership of the right-wing Fidesz party. József is a member of the party, famous for its refusal to participate in the Eurovision song contest, claiming that it's "too gay."

Although József's two-faced nature does not exactly ruin the reputation of most politicians, it is depressingly frightening to see how much some political figures will lie about their true selves to protect their ambitions.
