The world is still shocked after learning of Angela Lansbury's passing on October 11. Her family confirmed the sad news through a statement.
The Murder, She Wrote actress was 96 at the time of her death, only a few days shy of her 97th birthday.
The statement from her family said in part:
"The children of Dame Angela Lansbury are sad to announce that their mother died peacefully in her sleep at home in Los Angeles at 1:30 AM today, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, just five days shy of her 97th birthday."
Angela was in Los Angeles at the time of her passing, having lived most of her life there.

It has now been revealed that she once had to flee from the city with her family for a shocking reason.
While talking to the media in the past, the actress had said that she left Los Angeles and went to live in Ireland during the 60s.
She did this to keep her daughter Deidre from Charles Manson.
Manson is famous as a cult leader responsible for murdering Sharon Tate, a Hollywood star, among other people.
Lansbury said that Deidre, now 69, had gotten involved with the group Manson was leading. These groups were devoted to deadly missions.
She revealed that it was painful to say that her daughter was part of a group led by Charles Manson.
However, it was not just Deidre who needed help. Her son Anthony, 70, had also started using drugs.
Anthony had started with cannabis before he transitioned to heroin.
The drug use was why the two kids had been drawn into the unsavory group led by Manson.
This made her decide to take the kids to County Cork in Ireland.

Deidre was among the many youngsters who knew Manson. Like the other young people under his leadership, she found him fascinating due to his unusual character and charisma.
Lansbury told her husband that they had to leave.
She had picked Ireland because it was where Lansbury's mother was born. She was also sure her children would not have to deal with negative influences while there.
After they settled in the country, she did not work for a year. She learned to cook, and it did not take long for her kids to change their ways.
Anthony changed his habits pretty fast, and Deidre took a while but finally turned things around and got married. Today, she runs an Italian restaurant with her husband in Los Angeles.
