Most of us do stupid things while we're abroad, but we don't cause international scandals, like one Italian woman. She was spotted walking around naked while her bestie was filming her. Needless to say, the locals in a village in Bali were left speechless.

The best thing about traveling is probably learning about new, exciting cultures. Well, that wasn't the case for these two Italian visitors. Though Bali seems like a paradise for hedonists, it's quite a religious island, and shaking your naked booty is uncalled for.

Wanted by the Indonesian police

The naked lady incident caused quite a stir. The local authorities stated that the woman walked in the nude around the busy Canggu shopping mall while her friend giggled.

The video was shared on the Instagram page for Canggu Bali news alongside the warning:

"Bad behavior. Do not try."

Perhaps it was supposed to cause outrage, or the ladies just thought it was a bit of "harmless" fun. But, soon, the footage went viral. The locals, as well as the other travelers, filmed the naked tourist, and she became a sensation.

Head of Badung police station, Gusti Agung Kerta Suryanegara, said about the incident:

"It's disrupting order, which means it was inappropriate, not in accordance with our culture and nature."

"It's causing a stir."

However, not everyone was on the side of the locals. One person posted an Instagram comment:

"Why would you expect anyone NOT to behave badly in Canggu?"

Western tourists Vs. Bali natives

The authorities in Bali already talked about the issue they have with vacationists. They even wanted to create a ban to force the tourists to behave a bit more modest.

The tourists from the West often take things way too far. Instead of admiring the holy temples, they take selfies and even pee next to them.

It's unclear whether the woman from this tape will ever face any consequences. It's people like her who make it harder for real travelers to get in touch with the culture, history, and nature.
