However, Alfonso Ribeiro's four-year-old daughter had an unfortunate accident on the final day of her three-year-old life. She had a serious fall from her scooter, resulting in painful and severe injuries.
Both parents shared their relief and gratitude on Instagram, expressing how grateful they were to be able to wish their daughter a happy birthday despite the challenging circumstances.
Alfonso Ribeiro's Daughter Turned Four
Alfonso Ribeiro, known for his role in "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," is a beloved figure for many. He's experienced in fatherhood and has earned a reputation for being a fantastic dad.
However, he recently faced a difficult situation with his youngest daughter, Ava, who had a serious scooter accident. As a result, she had to be taken to the emergency room.
The timing made it even tougher since the accident occurred on the day before her fourth birthday. Nobody wants to spend the day before their birthday in a hospital bed, awaiting surgery.
Both parents were filled with worry and concern for their little girl and turned to Instagram to share their gratitude following her surgery. Alfonso shared a photo displaying Ava's injuries from the accident and added a caption to the post:
"Not the kind of day you want the day before turning 4. Just want to give a heartfelt thank you to @kareskinmd for the emergency service and procedure to help lessen the likelihood of scaring. So proud of how brave my baby girl was during the surgery."

Alfonso Ribeiro and his wife chose to commemorate Ava's fourth birthday once she had recovered. Alfonso shared a photo on his Instagram account, capturing Ava with a balloon shaped like the number four, while sending her heartfelt wishes on her special day.
"Happy Birthday to my sweet Ava Sue. As some of you know Ava had a very difficult week," he wrote.
"I'm so proud of how well she handled everything. She's so brave strong and creative. I love everything about my little girl. On a side note, I'm forever grateful to @mrsangelaribeiro1 for being so amazing during this time. Long nights with a little girl in pain and having to apply medication every few hours. My two heroes."

Angela, the mother of Ava and Alfonso Ribeiro's wife, also expressed her gratitude on Instagram regarding her daughter's accident. She shared a post where she revealed that she had a premonition that morning about her daughter being in the emergency room.
"My poor baby. I woke up and had a vision/motherly intuition of Ava ending up in the ER today," she shared in the caption.
Angela recounted the experience of insisting that everyone in the room make eye contact as they pledged not to engage in any risky activities with Ava on that particular day. She expressed her thoughts by writing:
"I announced to the fam, kids, sitter & friends helping out getting ready for Ava's birthday party that 'we are not doing anything crazy or dangerous today that could potentially end up with an ER visit.' I literally made everyone lock eyes to me when I said these words."
"Sadly, my words were soon forgotten and long story short, this poor girl crashed off a sit-down scooter…the day before her bday. A big thank you to Dr. Raffy at @kareskinmd for seeing us after hours and performing a procedure to hopefully eventually have a little scarring on her face and arms. Not a fun way to spend your last day as a 3-year-old, but she was a trooper. Giving this sweet girl some extra cuddles tonight."
