The police have confirmed that Alex Baldwin shot a woman on the new movie set in New Mexico. The woman, Halyna Hutchins, has been flown to the hospital by helicopter but sustained injuries.

No one has been charged since it appears to be a tragic accident. The police are investigating what really happened at Bonanza Creek Ranch, a famous filming location. Baldwin and the crew were filming a movie Rust.

Santa Fe sheriff spokesman said Baldwin had spoken to detectives:

"He came in voluntarily, and he left the building after he finished his interviews."

Hutchins, 42, came from Ukraine and was named a rising star in 2019. She was the director of photography for the 2020 action film Archenemy. The movie's director, Adam Egypt Mortimer, tweeted:

The International Cinematographers Guild issued a statement:

"The details are unclear at this moment, but we are working to learn more, and we support a full investigation into this tragic event."

Alec Baldwin is a co-producer of the movie, whose destiny is in the air after this deadly accident.

Similar incidents are rare but not as rare as one might think. One of the most famous cases was the death of Bruce Lee's son, Brandon Lee, who died while filming The Crow.

Brandon Lee's sister commented on the latest incident involving a prop. Shannon Lee tweeted:

"Our hearts go out to the family of Halyna Hutchins and to Joel Souza and all involved in the incident on Rust. No one should ever be killed by a gun on a film set. Period."

This is a developing story.
