Madison Marsh's name is now etched in history.

At just 22 years old, not only is she serving as an active pilot in the US Air Force, but she also claimed the title of Miss Colorado last year.

Marsh, a recent graduate from the US Air Force Academy, embarked on her aviation journey at 16 with her first solo flight. However, her ambitions stretched beyond the Miss Colorado title, setting her sights on the Miss America crown.

In a conversation with Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy, just before the conclusion of the Miss America competition last night (January 14), Marsh faced a classic pageant question about her perspective on 'being a woman.'

Her response encapsulated her unique experience. "Being a woman in the military is all what you make of it," Marsh said.

"And for me that's been being able to do both - that means representing my mom who I lost to pancreatic cancer and living through her life, because I get to live even though she doesn't."

Madison Marsh has been a trailblazer in challenging conventional norms, skillfully juggling her roles as Miss Colorado and Second Lieutenant Marsh.

Not one to rest on her laurels, Marsh is also advancing her academic career by pursuing a master's degree in public policy at Harvard Kennedy School.

Her participation in the Miss America competition was already groundbreaking, but the 22-year-old achieved even more by winning the title last night.

During the pageant's discussion segment, Marsh tackled the serious issue of drugs in America, drawing from the personal experience of her mother's cancer diagnosis. For her talent, she presented a spoken word performance about earning her pilot's license at the tender age of 16.

In an interview following her victory, the accomplished pilot shared her empowering belief: "You can achieve anything. The sky is not the limit and the only person that's stopping you is you."
