Nipples are once again the center of controversy at a halftime Super Bowl show. But this time, they belong to Adam Levine.
The Maroon 5 frontman became an instant talking point for multiple reasons when he took off his shirt during his performance. Some took to Twitter to compare his tremendously '90s tank top to some 70's home furnishings. Others commented on his fit body or poked fun at his tattoos.
But many more called out a double standard in Adam Levine's choice to go topless. Recall how back in 2004, Justin Timberlake ripped away part of Janet Jackson's top and revealed her nipple for a split second. What was deemed by media as a "wardrobe malfunction" led to massive outrage —and even though Timberlake was the one who caused the nipple reveal, it was Jackson who "got fined and blacklisted by US radio."
Twitter hasn't forgotten.
