Joe Whale, or "The Doodle Boy," is a young English artist who has a knack for drawing incredible little doodles—but the 9-year-old didn't initially receive much support to pursue his passion.
Class Nuisance or Child Prodigy?
The boy from Shrewsbury, Shropshire, would always get in trouble at school for drawing on the whiteboard in his free time.
Fortunately for Joe, his parents supported his passion instead of scolding him and signed him up for an art class.
In fact, Joe's father said:
"He was in school getting frustrated at the little amount of art he could do, so he used to doodle on the table's whiteboard in class and get into trouble for doodling."
"His mom and I decided to get him into an art class outside of school called Bloom, he's been there for about six weeks and he loves every minute of it."
Joe's art teacher began posting the boy's artwork on Instagram after being blown away by his unique talent.
The boy managed to attract the attention of the local Number 4 restaurant's management with his brilliant drawings.
The owners contacted Joe, asking him if he could decorate the restaurant in return for some money. He initially thought they wanted him to draw a normal picture that they'd hang on the wall before finding out that they wanted him to draw on the restaurant's entire white wall.
As you might have expected, Joe was more than happy to do it!
According to Self-Sufficient Kids, parents and teachers must embrace any talents, goals, ambitions, or dreams a child might have. Even if what they're good at doesn't meet your expectations of their future.
Not surprisingly, his Instagram page generated more than 113k followers, all admiring fans. And now he's already taking steps towards being a professional artist!
