Whoever came up with the expressions like "pregnancy glow" or "pregnancy is beautiful" never experienced what being pregnant truly means. Not only is it not glowy, but it includes vomiting, strange cravings, bloating, sweating, overall not much femininity.
Of course, the upper side is that you get to bring a life into the world, and once you do, nothing could top that feeling. You have to be patient for nine months, and these 50 ladies might help.
By sharing what pregnancy really looks and feels like, we are helping women not to feel like they are doing something wrong because they aren't living up to some made-up expectations.
Pregnancy, In All Honesty

Vicki Broadbent, a writer, director, broadcaster, and founder of the parenting blog Honest Mum told Bored Panda:
"There is a myriad of changes which take place when you're pregnant: hormonal so chemical/emotional changes and of course physical as your body expands to house your precious cargo."
These dramatic changes happen quickly, like Vicki, also a published author further explained:
"First-trimester nausea and fatigue certainly aren't fun. Nor is indigestion and insomnia of the second trimester, but as this is my fourth pregnancy and third baby (I sadly lost a baby last year), I am relishing the magic of pregnancy as much as possible."
Yes, losing a baby is an absolutely devastating feeling and a realistic possibility. Sometimes, there is no explanation, and society has to accept that pregnancy comes with many fears that something might go wrong.
Combined with hormonal changes, this is the reason why many women seem irrational, for those who are sole observers.
The Pressure Of Having A Pregnancy Glow

Broadbent further added that the pressure of looking a certain way doesn't allow women to get comfortable and let nature do its job:
"I can't lie and say I'm fully at peace with my changing body as a society/the media and my own pressure not to look 'too big' does affect me, but I'm certainly trying to be kind to myself with loving affirmations and making healthy food choices and safely exercising. I'm doing daily meditation too so I can be more responsive and less reactive — hormones can be wild at times — so that helps!"
Stress is harmful to the mom-to-be and for her baby. Expressing yourself, keeping yourself sane, in control, is challenging but not impossible.
"Talking candidly about how I'm feeling is key."
"I kept a lot of trauma buried within me after a tough first birth, and I learned from that period that not expressing my pain was detrimental to my mental health, so now I talk (and talk) to those I love."
Being honest, real, about what to expect when you're expecting, sharing genuine experiences is a step in the right direction.
And, as you may have noticed by now, pregnant women have a great sense of humor and are willing to share. We just have to listen to them!
