4 Hard Lessons You Will Face During A Lifetime

Life is brutal and beautiful at the same time. While hard times will come, they will pass and leave us with bruises or lessons. Maybe both.

Life forces us to confront tough decisions and live with the consequence. That's why it's essential to learn to accept failure, rejection and move on.

While you can learn some lessons from others, the most important ones will come as you're living them. Here are the four major scary and powerful life lessons.

You can't change people

No matter how good your intentions are, there's no way you will ever change a person.

If you can accept a person, that's fine. But if you are only staying with them to change them, drop it. You are wasting your time and energy.

A person can change; we all change all the time. But it's once we are ready for that step. Everything else is an illusion.

Love makes no sense

There's nothing logical about love. Being in love is one of the weirdest feelings in the world, and to this day, no one has ever made sense of it.

We can't even define love, so don't bother trying to understand it. Instead, focus on empathy, intuition, vulnerability, and honesty, to improve your relationships and watch as you grow.

Self-love is the best love

If you don't love yourself, you cannot love anyone else. Additionally, you can't feel loved if you don't know how to love yourself.

Learning to accept and respect yourself is a long process, but you can start at any age. Once you realize how awesome and deserving of the love you are, you are going to regret not discovering that empowering feeling earlier.

Practice self-love with small acts of kindness, think positive and try to give your mind a well-deserved peace.

Facing mortality

We are obsessed with aging as if that's some punishment.

What we fail to see is that every day is a blessing. Getting older is a miracle; not all people get to be your age. Celebrate each moment, since you're still here.

No one ever taught us how to love or how to live, for that matter. We are left to figure it out, which might even be life's purpose. These lessons are likely our real legacy.
