Babysitting can get tricky, but it's the only job many teens can get. The pay is often lousy, and babysitters often have to deal with a long list of requirements handed over by the kids' parents.

However, some parents left requests that were so incredibly peculiar that they shocked everyone. Here are 15 babysitters who encountered bizarre rules from parents while on the job.

1. He Could Take It, But The Parents Couldn't

A babysitter was given a simple instruction about the boy left in her care: "No hot sauce after 9 pm."

Strangely, the kid loved the stuff, but the parents didn't care about this. This rule probably had something to do with the fact that hot sauce makes some people throw up.

However, it had never been an issue for the child.

2. Teaching A Toddler About Childbirth

A babysitter was working for a hippie family. They had a 2-year-old who had no rules.

She was allowed to eat whatever she wanted, go to bed whenever she felt like it, and most strangely, she could sleep wherever she dozed off.

The parents didn't mind finding her watching TV while eating chocolate at 2:30 in the morning.

Things were about to get much weirder after her mom got pregnant. She opted for a home birth and made a weird request to the babysitter.

She wanted the babysitter to explain to the girl what was going on as she gave birth in a bathtub. The girl was supposed to be watching television as this happened.

That was the last time the babysitter worked there.

3. Parents Who Didn't Have Time For Potty Training

A babysitter thought a boy had a disability of some sort because he still wore diapers at 6. However, the problem was that his parents never had the time to give him potty training.

The kid didn't seem to mind, and the babysitter had to change the child's diaper every two hours.

The babysitter tried to encourage the kid to use the bathroom and change his diapers, but it was still too much for her to handle, and she had to leave.

4. Parents Who Wanted Kids To Love Babysitters More

While parents often impose restrictions, they want babysitters to follow. A couple wanted the complete opposite. These parents encouraged the babysitter to give the children chocolate milk.

Usually, they could not have it.

It seemed that they wanted the kids to prefer babysitters over them. That would make it easier for the parents to go out more regularly.

5. There's An Easier Way

Parents to twins (3 years old) asked the babysitter to drive them around for two and a half hours since that is the only way they could sleep.

The babysitter had a better plan: they were asleep 15 minutes later after putting them to bed.

6. Baby Bottle For A 10-Year-Old

Parents asked a babysitter to give the child warm milk after dinner but in a baby bottle. The kid was 10, and he had no problem with it.

7. Sleeping CD

When putting the kids to bed, a babysitter had to play a CD. If you think that sounds weird, then you are mistaken.

The CD was a recording of the parents saying, "Molly, you are wonderful. You are a star. You're going to shine bright." The CD played for many hours, and the kids had to listen to it whenever they went to sleep.

8. If He Wants To Go Outside, Let Him

A babysitter was informed that if the boy stood by the door, it meant he wanted to go out. She was told to open the door and let him outside.

The weird thing was that the boy was four years old.

9. Fleetwood Mac Every Day, Without Exceptions

A babysitter had to care for a 3-year-old who had to watch a tape of a Fleetwood Mac concert every day before going to bed. She thought that the little girl was just quirky for being so crazy about the rock band.

Later, she learned that watching the tape was not her choice. In fact, she hated it.

She preferred to watch something else, but she was made to watch the Fleetwood Mac tape instead.

The instructions left behind by the parents always mentioned that the girl had to watch it before she got into bed. The babysitter found this ridiculous and didn't force the girl to see it, and she lost her babysitting gig as a result.

10. It Wouldn't Be Your Fault If She Died

When a babysitter took up her new job, she was told the girl had a severe peanut allergy. There is nothing strange about that.

However, things got weird right after she was coached about using the epi-pen, calling neighbors who were doctors, and preventive measures.

In the end, she refused to be convinced that the wafers would be safe, and after she got home, she immediately asked about them.

A babysitter working with a single mom asked her to use a bat by the door to hit the kids' father if he tried to come and take them away. Without a doubt, that must have been a bit awkward.
