What's the worst thing you did when you were 11?

Louisiana police arrest an 11-year-old boy after he steals a school bus, goes for a joyride, and flips off the police.

The incident occurred after an unidentified boy stole the school bus from a private owner who subcontracted with Head Start Elementary.

As police tried to apprehend the boy, he taunted officers and flipped them off as he drove away.

The 45-minute chase finally ended when he lost control of the huge bus and crashed into a tree.

The officer took the young boy into custody.

Baton Rouge Police spokesperson L'Jean McKneely said:

The male juvenile crashed the school bus… into a tree after crashing into 3 vehicles and fleeing from officers.

The boy left the scene unharmed. However, a driver in one of the struck cars during the hit-and-run suffered a minor injury.

Meanwhile, residents were in shock to see cops chase and arrest a boy so young.

A resident, Libby Smith, said:

It was just unbelievable to see something like that. You just don't think of an 11-year-old boy driving a bus and being in control of a big bus like that.

I'm thinking what in the world is going on, and my first thought is that it was a lot of kids on the bus.

Thank goodness he was OK, he was safe, but it was not your typical Sunday afternoon occurrence for sure.

So we're blessed that it didn't do any more damage than it did.

Another witness who filmed the chase said:

As he got closer and closer and closer, I saw it's a little boy in there, and he was laughing.

He was like giggling on the way across Florida as he goes right past me. I'm like I can't believe it's a little boy.

Pictures posted to social media show police surrounding the bus and placing the boy under arrest.

When officers asked the boy why he stole the school bus, he said he did it 'just to do it.'

The boy is now facing four charges: Vehicle theft, aggravated flight, three counts of property damage, and one count of aggravated assault.

It's still unclear how the boy got hold of the keys, to begin with, especially since schools close on weekends. Not to mention during a pandemic.

But what's really curious is ... how the heck did an 11-year-old reach the pedals well enough to joyride for almost an hour?!?
