10 Famous Liberals Who've Made The 'Nazi' Comparison But Weren't Canceled

10 famous liberals who’ve made the ‘nazi’ comparison but weren’t canceled

In case you missed it, Disney let actress Gina Carano go due to the "offensive" information she posted on her social media account. Gina is best known for her role in The Mandalorian, an incredibly popular Disney+ show.

The post that caused the Great actress's Disney career's greatest damage was a screenshot of another person's post.

She shared the post on her Instagram account, and it was of a politically divisive nature. The post compared the political environment in the U.S. to that of Nazi Germany.

Here is what the post read in full:

"Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors… even by children."

"Because history is edited, most people today don't realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?"

Carano happens to be a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, and she has often complained that she faces backlash for her conservative ideas. Therefore, many of her critics assumed that she was drawing parallels between Republicans and the Nazi Germany Jewish people.

The post was later deleted, but by then, it had already been widely shared. Critics were already demanding the actress get fired through a Twitter tag #FireGinaCarano, which trended on the social media platform for a while.

Gina Gets Fired

After the storm of controversy Gina started, Lucasfilm, which is owned by Disney, made this announcement:

"Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there is no plans for her to be in the future."

The production company also explained that it did not agree with the actress' opinions:

"… her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable."

Obviously, it's quite ridiculous for anyone to compare modern-day America to the Nazi-era Jewish community. However, she is hardly the first person to make such claims.

Many liberals and leftists have compared the current political climate to that of Nazi Germany. Some have even compared Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler.

Apparently, making the same claim against the Left is a problem, which is the only explanation behind Carano's job loss. When many liberals compared Republicans to Nazis, they did not face the same consequences Carano suffered.

Here are 10 liberals who have done so and gotten away with it:

1. Joe Biden

In September 2020, when Joe Biden was still the Democratic presidential nominee, he compared Trump to German Nazi propaganda. He said this during an interview with Stephanie Ruhle of MSNBC.

He stated that Trump was like Goebbels. Joseph Goebbels was the mastermind behind Nazi Germany's propaganda machine.

2. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said that Donald Trump was operating concentration camps back in 2018. This was in reference to the detention of migrants at the southern border:

"The United States is running concentration camps on our southern border…"

3. Don Lemon

While speaking to Chris Cuomo, CNN anchor, Don Lemon said that the way Donald Trump was talking, he could head down the same path as Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler took, who also started with "little lies."

According to Lemon, like Trump, Hitler also had a platform to spread hate and propaganda. As a result, people ended up getting hurt while others died.

When Cuomo complained that Don's comparison of Trump to Hitler was a bit extreme, Don decided to explain his point further:

"It starts with little lies. It starts with little lies that become bigger lies and people who became brainwashed… It started with a little thing. People start to buy into it, and all of a sudden, it becomes a reality to you."

4. Joy Reid

Joy Reid compared the way the media covered President Donald Trump to the way Adolf Hitler was covered in the 1930s before the world fell into World War II chaos. Apparently, people try to see such people as normal.

5. Jim Clyburn

He was also speaking to Chris Cuomo when he compared Trump's inability to concede defeat to what "Hitler did in Germany." He said that he didn't think what happened in Germany in the 1930s would be happening in the U.S., but it was.

Jim thought that Trump was getting the authority to become a dictator, just like Hitler did.

6. Beto O'Rourke

Presidential candidate Robert "Beto" O'Rourke, in October 2019, compared Trump's administration to the Nazis. He also said that sooner or later, Americans would see Trump for who he is.

He claimed that since Hitler, Trump is the only Western leader to have called people of one faith defective, dangerous, or disqualified from being successful in that country.

According to O'Rourke, Germany descended into a level of barbarity that shames Germans even today, and the U.S., under Trump, was going down the same path.

7. Bill Maher

Back in 2016, Bill Maher compared Trump to Hitler. He placed "Trump-sounding" quotes along a clip of Hitler speaking. In 2018, he said that Trump would have celebrated people like Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.

Apparently, if Trump was alive in 1938, he would have called Hitler and Mussolini strong leaders and would have loved them.

8. Jimmy Kimmel

Jimmy shared a TV gaffe showing the title of an Adolf Hitler documentary under President Donald Trump while speaking at a campaign rally. He then joked that "The Hitler family is furious. They're talking about suing."

9. Donny Deutsch

Donny Deutsch, a host at MSNBC, compared the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to the Nazis.

He argued that Trump had authorized ICE military briefs to visit streets across the country and grab children and families. With that, things that usually happened in other countries were now happening in the U.S.

Apparently, these people were running around for safety like the Jewish ran from the Nazis. In 2018, Donny also claimed that voting for Trump was no different from supporting the Nazis.

10. Hank Johnson

Democrat Hank Johnson, back in January 2019, compared Trump and the political movement that put in power to the rise of Adolf Hitler. He claimed that American democracy was on the "brink of failure."

Hank Johnson claimed that Americans had voted in an authoritarian, a racist, and anti-immigrant strongman to the nation's highest office. Hitler had also ridden on a wave of nationalism and anti-Semitism to power.

Therefore, even though Gina Carano has paid the price of allegedly comparing Republicans to Nazi-era Jewish people, these liberals were more direct in their comparisons of Trump and his administration to Nazis, and nobody punished them for it.
